6AM // David Stine

DC Metro, Alexandria, VA

As Lead Pastor of DC Metro Church, David Stine is known for his practical biblical teaching, his visionary leadership, and his heart to impact the DC Metropolitan area. David’s authenticity and his ability to communicate the truth of God’s Word in a humorous, dynamic, and revelatory manner helps people understand the Bible and how to apply its teachings to their everyday lives. David is passionate about people coming to know Christ, getting planted in God’s house, and becoming transformational leaders who work together to build a God-first culture throughout the DC Metro area.

David and his wife Taryn have three boys, Isaac who is 5, Josiah who is 3, and baby Asher. David first met Taryn at Louisiana State University (Go Tigers!) where they both majored in Business and were involved in a campus ministry together. After graduation, they were advancing in their respective careers, but the deepest desire of their hearts was to "do something great for God" together. Incidentally, those five words "do something great for God" were the first words Taryn ever spoke to David at the college conference where they met when he asked her what she wanted to do with her life. Needless to say, David began to beg Jesus to let her say "yes" to go on a date with him. After several weeks of prayer and pursuit, Taryn did say "yes". In 2002, they were married and he is still happily pursuing her today.
Shortly after coming to Christ in college, David knew there was a call on his life to full-time ministry and sensed God leading him to seminary at Regent University, where he earned his Masters Degree (M.A.) in Practical Theology and his Doctoral Degree (D.Min) in Leadership. Before David and Taryn moved to DC, he was in full-time ministry for twelve years, including his most recent role as the Senior Associate Pastor at Celebration Church (a non-denominational church with 10,000 in weekly attendance) in Jacksonville, Florida. Taryn earned her Masters in Accounting (CPA) and worked in Corporate America for several years before coming on staff in the Women’s ministry at Celebration Church. She currently leads DC Sisterhood, where she is able to walk out her passion of helping women reach their full God potential in life.

David also serves in a leadership capacity as a member of the A-Team for theAssociation of Related Churches, which has planted over 150 life-giving churches across the US and presently averages a new church plant every seven days. David is honored to be teaching, training, and coaching future church planters because he strongly believes that the local church is the hope of the world.

David and Taryn are thoroughly enjoying raising their sons and loving their call to full-time ministry. They believe nothing compares to the joy of experiencing the transformation in people’s lives as they choose the God-first life. David is incredibly honored to be the Lead Pastor of DC Metro and he and Taryn are extremely thankful to be living out their dream of getting to "do something great for God" together.

12PM // Ben Rogers

Children's Cup

Ben Rodgers has been serving Children's Cup in Africa since 1999. Moved by the massive numbers of children who were left to fend for themselves in the wake of HIV/AIDS, Ben sought the Lord for a strategy to develop a model for effective orphan care that could be implemented by African churches and communities. God gave Ben a vision for Carepoints that could network to meet the needs of more children. Children's Cup now uses this model to reach thousands of children in Africa. In 2010, Ben was asked to be the Executive Director of Children's Cup after the passing of the founder, Dave Ohlerking. Ben is passionate about the Children's Cup vision, not to simply rescue lost and forgotten children, but to see communities transformed by developing these children into leaders who are filled with hope. Ben's passion for Africa is surpassed only by his love for his wife Susan and their three children: Kayla, Levi and Trinity. For more information visit www.childrenscup.org
